If you want to transfer a domain name from one registrar to another, you’ll have to go through several safety procedures. One of them is getting a special EPP authentication code from the present registrar – on the condition that you are the domain registrant, since the code is sent to the domain owner’s email and no one else can obtain it. You will need to provide this code to the new registrar company, or else they will not be able to begin the domain transfer. The EPP authorization codes are case-sensitive and may include digits or special characters such as commas or dots, which can be easily miswritten, so make sure you copy/paste the right code. As an extra safety measure, the transfer authorization code for a domain name may be altered regularly. Certain registrar companies call this code a domain secret, an Auth key or a domain password as well.
EPP Transfer Protection in Shared Web Hosting
If you have a shared web hosting plans, you’ve registered a domain with us and you’d like to transfer it away from us, you can obtain its EPP authorization code with no more than several mouse clicks. When you log in to your Hepsia Control Panel and visit the Registered Domains section, you will see all the domains that you have registered with our company displayed in alphabetical order. Next to each domain name, you’ll notice a mini EPP icon for all domain name extensions that need a code in order to be transferred between domain name registrars. Clicking the icon will email the EPP code to the domain name registrant’s email momentarily. In the same section you can also find and eventually modify the email address, if the one there is no longer valid.
